Our club will be 20 years old in 2018.  Please provide us with interesting photos that you may have and if you have an interesting story or two, please send it to us.  Ex-members who have moved away but still receive the Newsletter, please let us hear for you.   Members are also invited to share with us suggestions for how we can celebrate this important milestone.

BUFFELSDRIFT TRAILS

Most road runners enjoy running off road once in a while for cross training and the sheer pleasure of running in nature.  For those of you who are looking for beautiful trails to run not too for from here, the Buffeslsdrift Mountain Bike Park has recently opened 3 running trails in addition to their cycling trails:  5km, 7km and 10km.  They are in the process of developing 15km and 21 km trails as well.  The trails are clearly marked and route descriptions are available at the start.  Impala, zebra and kudu are frequently spotted on all the routes and there is an abundance of bird life.

Buffelsdrift caters for the runner’s every need:  a coffee shop  overlooking a pond serving light meals and sweets; clean ablution facilities with showers and true hospitality.  The fee per day is R30 and the annual fee R300.  A cycling/running annual combo membership will be R650 for 2018.   The annual fee allows you access 24/7.  Go to http://www.buffelsdriftmtb.co.za/ for detail on their location.

Cas and I have done all three distances recently.  Here are a few photos to wet your appetite!
